Disgust for the previous stage

Forced into contact with first and second-year undergraduates as I am in my choir, I've been noticing how old I'm getting -- I've actually PASSED the stage where I think they're incredibly annoying, and now I just find them childish! The juniors and seniors, that's a different story.

This is reminding me of how mom always used to point out to me that one particularly despises behavior characteristic of the developmental stage that one has just passed. No reference to present company intended.
